Ingredient Notes

Vodka

The choice of vodka for a Walk Me Down cocktail recipe is mostly a matter of personal taste. However, it is recommended to use a decent quality, neutral-flavored vodka since it is the base spirit for the drink.

Popular vodka brands for mixed drinks include Absolut, Grey Goose, Smirnoff, Ketel One, and Tito’s.

Gin

If you’re looking for a good gin to use in this cocktail, popular brands include Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Hendrick’s, Beefeater, and Plymouth.

Blue curaçao

Some popular brands of Blue Curacao liqueur include Bols, DeKuyper, Hiram Walker, and Senior. These brands are widely available and are often used in cocktails due to their quality and affordability.

If you have access to a specialty liquor store, you may also find more high-end Blue Curacao liqueurs that have a more refined taste and a higher price point. These may be worth trying if you are looking for a more complex flavor profile.

White Rum

Light or white rum is typically used in this cocktail as it has a mild flavor and doesn’t overpower the other ingredients.

Some popular brands of light rum include Bacardi, Captain Morgan, Malibu, and Cruzan. These brands are widely available and are often used in cocktails due to their quality and affordability.

If you’re looking for a more complex flavor profile, you can also try using a dark or aged rum. These rums have a richer, more intense flavor and can add depth to the cocktail. Popular brands of dark or aged rum include Myers’s, Mount Gay, Appleton Estate, and Ron Zacapa.

Tequila

Some popular brands of tequilia that go well with this drink recipe are Patrón, Don Julio, Sauza, Hornitos, and Jose Cuervo. Blanco or silver tequila is a popular choice for mixed drinks due to its smooth and versatile flavor profile. However, reposado and añejo tequilas can also be used if you want a more complex and aged flavor.

Sweet and Sour Mix

There are many pre-made sweet and sour mixes available on the market that you can use for a Walk Me Down cocktail recipe. Some popular brands include Rose’s, Master of Mixes, Finest Call, and Stirrings.

However, if you prefer to make your own sweet and sour mix, here’s a simple recipe you can try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup simple syrup (made by dissolving 1 cup of granulated sugar in 1 cup of water)

Instructions:

  1. Combine the lemon juice, lime juice, and simple syrup in a pitcher or large measuring cup.
  2. Stir well to combine.
  3. Taste and adjust the sweetness as needed by adding more simple syrup if desired.
  4. Store the sweet and sour mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Lemon-lime soda

Any carbonated soft drink that is flavored with lemon and lime will be fine like 7Up or Sprite.
